The Playful Warrior Rocks It (March 13, 2008)

Greetings, Greatness!

Good God, these days just keep getting more beautiful! I feel so blessed and fortunate to be alive right now, living in a place kissed so early in the season by the sun's radiance, among such amazingly bright, shiny people. Lawdy Lawdy!

Party Party 03/15:
So we got a party to go to; a chance to REPRESENT! :) I hope to see you at the Family Affair shindig on Saturday (www.family-affair.org).
Also keep in mind the SelfCentered throwdown on the 29th. If you haven't yet marked your calendar, do it now.

Public Display of Meditation 03/17:
The SelfCentered Tour is hosting a Hollywood PDM (public display of meditation) on Monday afternoon, the 17th (St. Paddy's: not just for drinkin anymore!). Essentially, a group of people (including you!) will sit in semi-silent meditation at 3 prime locations in Hollywood to bring some serenity to the belly of the beast on a particularly rowdy day. Nothing wrong with rowdiness...I highly endorse it. :) It's nice, though, to offer balance through earth-shaking stillness from time to time, especially en masse. RSVP to PDM@getselfcentered.com.

Now, some people let me know that they were personally offended by the name, SelfCentered.
That's AWESOME! See, it's gotcha thinkin, questioning, and reevaluating. The name refers to the process of centering yourself, that you may then fully offer your gifts to the world at large. It puts to rest the antiquated vernacular that propagates putting oneself at the center of everyone else's existence. It ain't about being selfish, it's about tending to self to share.
See what other commonly used language you can restructure this week. It's fun to redesign the paradigm. ;)
quick note on this event: I will not be able to attend, as I have a full day of work on Monday. When you get to Hollywood (the link above for location) look for Max. He's a nice guy. He'll know what to do.

Very Limited Time Bodywork Special 03/26 & 03/28
As you may or may not know, I'm a Venice Kid, meaning I rarely leave my beautiful west-side neighborhood. I have an amazing studio over here at Lincoln and Rose (featuring crystal singing bowls and hot stones and me!), where I provide powerful healing facilitation every week. The only catch is, IT'S ALL THE WAY OVER BY THE WATER! I love it, but some who live east of the 405 get a little miffed.
SOLUTION!!!
For 2 days only, I'll be in an AMAZING, beautiful studio in Beverly Hills. This is that opportunity you've been looking for to get some great bodywork.
If you're needing to destress from a long week/month/year of beating yourself up in pursuit of your dreams, come in. If you're ready to ramp up your personal path of evolution, come in. If you've been sitting on your couch just a little too long...you get the picture.
And to sweeten the deal, I'm offering the first visit at 30% off my usual studio rate. That means that where you would normally pay $150 for 2 hours of consultation and bodywork, on these 2 days only, you get it all for $105.
After that, I'm back to the beach. :)
Remember, how you do anything is how you do everything. Seize your opportunities.

Ultimate Frisbee 03/23:
That's right!!! Dude, I'm so stoked.
Penmar Park is the place to be on March 23. It's pretty simple. Late morning game of Ultimate into early afternoon. Come, bring hydration and clothes to SWEAT in, and play with the big dogs. This is a game for anyone, and if someone needs to sit out, we can always use cheering from the sidelines. :) We'll gather at 11:30, start at 12, and rock till we fall down.
YEAH!!!
Suggested donation $10. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

Mishe Mokwa Hike 04/12:
This is going to be another beauty. This one was suggested by miss Amy Frame (and thank you Eric Raber for the heads up on Winding Way). It's about a 3.5 hour round trip, so we'll plan on being there for 5.5, with Yoga and QiGong.
Plan to bring a yoga mat, plenty of water, sunscreen, sun cover (hat) and food for the trail. We'll share in a light lunch, so think beyond trail mix when throwing your pack together...be creative, and think juicy.
More info to come!!!
Suggested donation $10. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

There are of course yoga classes galore taking place every week. If you're interested in runnin with me to grab some time on the mat, give a shout. 323 620 3239.

Keep breathing, and keep believing in your abilities to naturally blossom beautifully.
You're a child of God, no less than the Lions or the Lillies.

LOVE YOU!!!
Mateo
